The Belgian Air and Space Component (Belgische Luchtcomponent, Composante Air Belge) is the air arm of the Belgian Armed Forces, and until January 2002 it was officially known as the Belgian Air Force (Belgische Luchtmacht; Force Aérienne Belge).
It was founded in 1909 and is one of the world's oldest air services.
On 30 August 2001, 11 Squadron took over the Advanced Flying Training (AFT) from 7 Squadron.
