  1. Army Service 1916 Army Canteens (WW1) officially numbered bronze lapel badge. Number 1966. Maker’s mark: Fattorini & Sons Ltd Bradford. Buttonhole fitting intact.

  2. N.A.A.F.I. (NAAFI) Navy, Army, Air Force Institutes white metal hat badge. Officially numbered M231 on reverse. Circa 1939 to 1953, WW2. King’s crown. Two lugs intact.

Army Service Army Canteens came under the auspices of the Expeditionary Force Canteens (EFC) which was established in 1915 and designated a War Office institution under the control of the Army Council. The 'EFC' was the forerunner of 'The Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes' (NAAFI).

The Navy, Army, Air Force Institutes was established on 6 December 1920 and started trading as NAAFI in 1921. The organization was created to run recreational establishments needed by the British Armed Forces, and to sell goods to servicemen and their families. It runs clubs, bars, shops, supermarkets, launderettes, restaurants, cafes, and other facilities on most British military bases and canteens on board Royal Navy ships.
