Also known as New Zealand Onward badge.
1914/15 to 1947.
Flat on reverse and clearly never had any fasteners. Possibly from a sweetheart's badge or item.

The New Zealand Expeditionary Force (N.Z.E.F.) was the name of the New Zealand military forces that fought in World War I and World War II.
The NZEF of World War I was known as the First New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and the NZEF of World War II was known as the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force (2NZEF).
Badge is a fern wreath with a King's crown on top, the letters "NZ" in the center, and a ribbon scroll with the motto "Onward" beneath the wreath.
