Helmet plate and title badges in good condition with all lugs intact.

The difference is in the Afrikaans spelling. 
1st pattern, 1913 to 1926 read in Afrikaans "Zuid-Afrikaanse Politie".
2nd pattern, 1926 to 1954 read in Afrikaans "Suid-Afrikaanse Poliesie" (this helmet plate).
3rd pattern, 1954 to 1961 read in Afrikaans "Suid-Afrikaanse Polisie".
Although the King passed away in 1953 the South African Police never changed to a Queen's crown and used the King's crown till becoming a Republic in 1961.
